Real Mexican Tortas

I was in Chihuahua the other day and Alfredo Murillo and I dropped into a new little streetside eatery in Casas Grandes. I was a little cautious about the place–not being sure the food would be that tasty.

So we both ordered tortas–like their primo one with lots of meat. It was one of the best of these little Mexican sandwiches I have ever had.

This torta we had in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua was one of the best I have had.

Here are the basics of a good torta:

Good white cheese, a little tomato and lettuce, avocado spread on the buns, lots of meat of various kinds (but definitely including pork), and a good fresh bolilo roll.
